The first of National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM)’s open days for the academic year 2013-14 takes place on campus on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November 2013. There will be a number of stands where visitors can go seek information on courses on offer and ask questions of staff and students. It is a great opportunity, a one-stop-shop, to seek as much information about what is on offer and what possible choices you (or someone you are accompanying) may consider.
In the School of Business we have increasingly been using students on our stands to answer questions from interested potential future students. These current students were themselves at the other side of the booth a few years ago and are most competent to honestly address many of the questions asked (such as ‘is it a difficult course?’).
Our current students are a diverse group – Irish and international, post-Leaving Cert and mature, pre-experience and-post experience, male and female. What they all have in common is the desire to attain a marketable degree that is valued in the workplace. So, while not only ensuring the courses on offer in the School of Business have academic rigour, we also ensure theory is related to practice in our assessments and class interactions.
Why not check it out for yourself – Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November, NUIM, north campus. The Business stand is in the Iontas foyer. Maybe see you there…
